BSmeter — the AI fact checker for videos, podcasts & news
BSmeter is an AI fact-checker that analyzes videos, podcasts, and news clips claim by claim, free with an account. Paste a link and it transcribes the audio, extracts each verifiable claim, scores it 0-100, names logical fallacies and framing moves, and searches for evidence sources on the weakest claim (the 3 weakest on Basic and Premium) — pairing that AI credibility analysis with the sharpest viewer comments, surfaced in sync as you watch.
What you get
- Claim-by-claim credibility scores: BSmeter transcribes the audio, pulls out every verifiable claim, and gives each one a 0-100 credibility score, then searches for evidence sources on the weakest claim (the 3 weakest on Basic and Premium). You get a breakdown of what holds up and what doesn't, not a single true/false verdict. Results are AI-generated and can be wrong, so the sources are there for you to check.
- Works where you watch: Paste a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reel, podcast, or audio-file link at bsmeter.ai (free account required), use the Chrome and Firefox extension to see results on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, or use the Android app.
- Three modes: Roast, Analyze, Learn: Roast is uncensored and joke-first; Analyze gives a neutral, evidence-first breakdown; Learn explains the reasoning so you catch the tricks yourself next time.
- Logical fallacies and framing moves, named: BSmeter names the rhetorical move behind a claim, like Missing Context, Cherry-Picked, Confidence Mismatch, or Anonymous Authority, and flags logical fallacies such as straw men and false equivalences.
- On-screen context, not deepfake detection: A vision pass describes what's shown on screen so claims are read in context. It doesn't detect deepfakes, cloned voices, edited footage, or AI-generated media: BSmeter checks what a video claims, not whether the footage is real.
- The sharpest viewer comments, in sync: Alongside the AI's read, BSmeter surfaces the most insightful community comments at the moment they're relevant — the crowd's catch and the AI's analysis, side by side.

Frequently asked questions
- Is BSmeter free?
- Yes, with a free account: 3 analyses a day on videos up to 30 minutes. Basic is $3.99/month for 15 analyses a day on videos up to 60 minutes, and Premium is $8.99/month for videos up to 2 hours.
- What can BSmeter analyze?
- Video or audio with speech: YouTube videos, TikTok clips, Instagram Reels, podcasts, and audio-file links. Paste a link at bsmeter.ai, or use the extension while you watch on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram.
- How does the credibility score work?
- Each verifiable claim gets a 0-100 credibility score with the reasoning behind it, and BSmeter searches for evidence sources on the weakest claim (the 3 weakest on Basic and Premium), linked so you can check them yourself. Scores are AI-generated and can be wrong, so treat them as a starting point rather than a final verdict.
- Can BSmeter detect deepfakes and AI-generated video?
- No. BSmeter doesn't detect deepfakes, cloned voices, or AI-generated or edited media. It checks what a video claims, and a deepfake's script still makes claims you can check. To judge whether the footage itself is real, trace the original source, look for the platform's AI label or Content Credentials (C2PA), and run a reverse image search on a key frame.
- Do I need an account?
- Yes, a free account (Google or email) is needed to run an analysis. It also saves your history, lets you bookmark claims, and syncs across the web app and extension.
