Honestly, no — not in the sense of a drop-in replacement. Botometer detects bot accounts on X/Twitter; BSmeter fact-checks claims inside videos and podcasts. If you specifically need account-level bot detection, Botometer is still the reference tool for it and BSmeter won't help you. If what you actually wanted was to know whether a claim is true, that's BSmeter's job and Botometer was never built for it. Plenty of people use both.

In a limited form. The original tool was disabled after X suspended free API access for researchers in 2023. The team at Indiana University revived it as Botometer X in February 2024, running in archival mode on pre-June-2023 data — it holds no scores for accounts created after May 31, 2023, and its scores may not reflect recent activity. That's a platform-access problem imposed on them, not a shortcoming of their research. It's still a solid tool for the historical data it covers.
