What you get

What BSmeter Looks At in a Video: BSmeter reads the transcript and checks the claims. For YouTube videos, a vision pass describes on-screen frames — charts, captions, what's happening in the scene — so claims are read in context. It doesn't identify people, and it does not inspect frames for AI generation or editing.
AI Voices: Verify the Source: Cloned voices are used for fake endorsements and scam calls. BSmeter doesn't analyze audio for cloning; the reliable check is the source — find the full recording on an official channel, and verify any urgent request through a number you already know.
Provenance: Content Credentials & AI Labels: Content Credentials (C2PA) and platform labels for AI-generated or altered content can tell you how a file was made — when they're present. Both are incomplete: credentials are often stripped on re-upload, and labels rely partly on creators disclosing.
Same Narrative, Many Platforms: AI-made misinformation is often repackaged across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X. Search the core claim along with the words 'fact check' to see whether it has already been covered, and trace it back to its earliest source. BSmeter checks the individual videos you paste; it doesn't track narratives across platforms.
Claim-by-Claim Checking: For any video or podcast you paste, BSmeter scores each verifiable claim from 0-100, names rhetorical moves like Missing Context or Anonymous Authority, and searches for sources on the weakest claim (the 3 weakest on Basic and Premium). Results are AI-generated and can be wrong, so check the linked sources.
